As a photographer, there is no bigger honor. Our love of capturing weddings on film, coupled with our passion for presentation, keeps us constantly inspired. We hope our pride in craftsmanship connects with those seeking authenticity, quality, and artfulness.

CONTROL VS CHAOS
We believe there is an appropriate time for our photographers to be assertive and directional, but we prefer to let an event genuinely unfold. Because we strive to take images that look and feel effortless, our couples rarely see each other prior to the wedding ceremony. The emotional catharsis that occurs during a ceremony creates less self-aware subjects and, in turn, natural pictures. The primary concern couples have with this concept is timing. They don't want their guests waiting a long time for families to finish taking photos. We need approximately 20 minutes for pictures after the ceremony, assuring that no time is lost at your reception.
SIMPLE HANDWOUND CAMERAS
Walking into a photo session with a Rolleiflex around our neck portrays a unique message to our subjects. It reveals that a session with A Bryan Photo will be calm, refreshing and artful. Our hand wound cameras require time to prepare and reload. This creates natural space & time for personal connection. Subsequently, subjects are more comfortable and less self aware.
DETAILS
We know that our bride's and their designers have dedicated precious time and resources the look of the wedding.  That is why we commit extra time to capturing the design elements that make your wedding day unique.
LESS IS MORE
We strive to capture the story of a wedding with great intention. Knowing how to engage a subject, when to document, and even when to put the camera down takes great practice and patience. Film has taught us to be emotionally connected with each frame we capture. It's hard to think of a wedding in objective terms when you shoot film. We try to deliver a digestible amount that reflects our desire for thoughtful imagery.
CLASSIC IMAGERY
Our constant aim is to capture and present classic images; photographs that will remain relevant despite the inevitable change of trends throughout future generations. We've all looked through parents or friends albums from the past 30 years. Why are mom and dad's silhouettes floating above the wedding ceremony? Why are my sister's flower's in color when everything else is in black & white? Each decade has had its own gimmicks which have fooled viewers into thinking they were witness to a breakthrough in creative genius. While we are not against photographic innovation, we do prefer the methods of those who have gone before us. Shooting film is a tipping of the cap to master tradesman whose images are style still stand the test of time.

SCHEDULING THE WEDDING DAY
A great wedding day often hinges on a great schedule.  Our goal is to create a schedule that makes you comfortable and excited.  We often travel to several locations pre-wedding so that you can relax with friends and family.  Before you begin creating a timeline, please consult us (by phone or in-studio) on how you see your wedding day unfolding.  We would love to work closely with you on it!
