Last month while I was in NY for the Mbird conference, I got the chance to photograph a few engagement sessions for wedding I’m shooting later this year. Paige and Stoddard live in the West Village and they are getting married at Blackberry Farm this fall. We had a great time walking around their neighborhood and shooting in their apartment. It was so great getting to know them and I can’t wait for their wedding!

It’s been really nice getting to know my friend John’s sister, Mary, and I was delighted when she wanted to hire me for her engagement session w/ Rob. We had a great time shooting first at our studio, then at Avondale park, and finishing up at the fabulous Parkside for a drink and chat. I won’t be photographing their wedding next month in Florida, but I’m thankful to have been able to capture these during this time of anticipation.
I’m photographing Bridget and Rob’s wedding in Savannah this spring with Calder Clark Designs but I had the chance this past fall to photograph their engagement session in Chicago. This lovely couple treated me so well on my short trip and I’m so thankful to be working with them.

Last month I went to New York for Charlotte and Gabe’s engagement session. This is one of my favorite sessions ever in the city, and now I am so excited for their wedding this upcoming summer at Blackberry Farm. We started our time together over a few beers at Spitzer’s and then strolled through the streets of the Lower East Side where Charlotte and Gabe used to live.
I brought just my LOMO and Rollei which are my two favorite cameras for lifestyle sessions. Since I typically document these shoots alone, these compact cameras are easier to carry and make having bags or an assistant unnecessary. This in turn creates a spontaneous atmosphere for more personal moments.
Abby loves going to the Jefferson County Farmers Market in Birmingham and we thought it would be a fun location for her engagement session with Chris. We also ventured over to the taqueria stand for lunch after they purchased their week’s veggies.
