While Branden and I were in Austin for SXSW we went to a costume shop named Lucy in Disguise with Diamonds. Both of us tried on a costume. I tried on your basic easter bunny and Branden went with Max from Where the Wild Things Are. I loved mine and honestly considered paying $300 for the piece of crap. I’m still sad I got practical and didn’t get it. Especially with Easter being this weekend and all. Does anyone know where I can get something similar for less? It can’t be too nice. And shorts are preferred.
A few weeks ago, I spoke on a panel at South by Southwest on the Power of Super 8. The conversation was hosted by Phil Vigeant of Pro 8mm, the company who processes and scans all of our film. It was an amazing experience being around so many people who share the same passion and excitement for something that many people think has disappeared.
This Super 8 film may be the worst display of sledding, in the history of sledding. It was captured by Branden at my birthday bash weekend this past November. We woke up on Saturday morning to see the mountain covered in snow. Unfortunately we didn’t have anything to sled on and we were forced to improvise.
Some of you may remember Laura & Caleb’s wedding and that several of his favorite photographer friends had the chance to document the day. Well, they have made an incredible site in order to display all the work from the wedding and it’s worth checking out: www.calebchancey.com/ourwedding
The site also features audio from the ceremony, including a Tom Waits cover by Matthew Perryman Jones.
The above 8mm was captured beautifully by Branden Lower and Paul Bryant, and edited by Caleb himself. Make sure you watch the honeymoon coverage at the end…stunning!
