Every winter my team and I take a trip to North Carolina to set goals for the future while also reflecting on our past year’s work. It’s an incredible couple days and we always leave with a laundry list of things to do so that we may improve our process and experience. We also leave plenty of time for play and relaxation. Here’s a Super 8 film that Branden shot of us sledding. A truck had made a groove in the snow with its tire track and it froze over. This was optimal for a quick (yet controlled) trip down the mountain.
Enjoy!
ABP Retreat, Super 8
Farewell, Kuhns.

It’s been a bitter sweet season for the A Bryan Photo family. Last month, Chase and Amy Kuhn (& baby Olive!) moved to Sydney, Australia in order for Chase to pursue his doctorate in Theology. The Kuhn’s have been a staple of our company for the past 3 years and pioneered the start of our other photography company, 509 Photo. More importantly, these two have become some of our closest friends.
It’s been incredible to watch Chase transform from a weekend assistant to one of my main peers in photography industry. His vision for the craft has sharpened and refined my own style, and I look forward to this continuing. Amy worked incredibly hard to change the way our clients experience their images. Her vision gave our photographs the presentation they deserve. We started making prints for all our shoots and Amy packaged them with great care.
They will be greatly missed and their impact on ABP will be felt for years to come.
Be sure to check out Chase’s work on his site or follow his blog. He’s going to be shooting while in Sydney. I recommend a session with him if you are “down under”.
Below are some of my favorite shots of these two from the past three years.

A Bryan Photo’s 8mm Film Specialist

I recently took some new A Bryan Photo staff photos and I especially loved this one of Branden. For those that don’t know, Branden is A Bryan Photo’s production manager but most importantly, he’s our 8mm film specialist. If you’ve never viewed his craftsmanship, just click here to view some of his films.
Branden is speaking next month at South by Southwest on a panel about the Power of Super 8 Film. Come join the discussion if you plan on attending SXSW!

Sarah & Jeremiah, December 20th 2008

You may have already seen the other posts I have done on the wedding of my friend and colleague, Jeremiah Sizemore. He and his wife Sarah got married and left on their honeymoon in an RV. They are currently traveling around the US for 3 months in said RV. While I have blogged on them several times I have yet to do an official post on their wedding day. So without further ado, here are some of my favorites from their wedding.
If you missed my previous posts on them, click HERE to view their engagement images, HERE to view their 8mm, and HERE to follow the blog related to their current RV adventures.

Married!
A simple reception at the church post wedding. Check out the team photo! We are only missing my wife Ashley (and boys) and Chase’s wife, Amy. Also, our gift to him was a Yashica T3 ( you didn’t think we would let him shoot digital?!?) so they could document their travels.
Here is the latest video from their blog, on their way to Big Sur:
Finally, here are some film shots from their trip!

Miss you guys!
Come home soon!
