Emily Deloach & Jason Feller

A great thing about being an artist who does business with another artist is the ability to barter. It both allows us to break even on our studio concerts, and the artist gets a photoshoot in return. Its WIN-WIN! I cannot emphasize enough how great it was to meet Emily and Jason and hear them play music. They have great chemistry and their music is stellar. I was really hoping to post these photos of Emily and Jason along with the audio from the show, but it unfortunately isn't ready yet. I'm pretty confident I will have it available by next week.

For now though, enjoy these shots from me and Caleb:

This shot makes me laugh.

Josh, Laura, Jeremy, Laura*

Wow. They totally could be a Contempary Christian Band. Riding on the soft & smooth vocals of lead singer Jeremy Carter, how could anyone remain seated during an altar call? The sultry sounds of the Laura's singing backup gives the band an ingredient that is imporant to any CC band hoping to make big bucks: PG sex appeal. Josh plays bass and sings bass and is a closet smoker**.

Post Amendments:
*Laura's name is actually Amanda
**After this was posted, word got out that Josh smokes and the band was stripped of all their Dove Awards.

Portrait Studio from Em Deloach, Part One

Ryan Warden jumping

Ah, the portrait studio. If you still haven't made it to one of our concerts, please let this be the reason why you can't miss our next one. It's a time when people let their guard down and forget that they are actually in front of a camera. People being both candid and ridiculous is always the proper protocol. This is just the first set, so if you took some shots and they didn't make it on here, they will probably make the post for tomorrow. I'm going to be so mad if you are in these shots and you don't steal them and make them your facebook/ myspace/ blogger profile photo.

90 people + 110 treats + 115 cups of coffee + 70 glass of wine + 1169 pictures + 13 songs = one amazing night in Studio 509.

More details of the night will come in the next few days, but for now we would like to say thanks to all who came and a very special thanks to all who helped with the event (Kat, Celine, Corey, and Urban Standard, you make us look so great)!

More later.

Once again we set up a portrait studio (which was a blast!).

Here's my favorite one of Emily & Jason:

A Bryan Photo Presents: An Evening with Emily Deloach

For A Bryan Photo last year was a year of trying out new ideas. Whether it was sending our film to a lab in Los Angeles, bringing on a new manager, shooting 8mm at weddings, or going to Africa, we were able to do a lot of different things and test a lot of new ideas.

One of the ideas was using our studio to host a concert, and, with only a limited amount of time to plan and prepare, we did. And to our surprise we had a lot of fun. In fact, we had so much fun we thought we would do it again. And again. And again. And again.

So on January 18th, 2008, A Bryan Photo will be presenting the first of four quarterly concerts. Each concert will feature a musician or band, and will be hosted at our very own Studio 509.

Our first "Evening With" this past October, featuring Katie Herzig:

This months featured artist is Emily Deloach, an independent Nashville artist who is originally from Birmingham. Emily will be joined by the very talented Jason Feller.

The cost of the event is $10. With that you get the show, wine, cupcakes, french pressed coffee (supplied by the new Urban Standard), and a few extra surprises.

If you haven't been able to see the studio or meet us face to face, we are excited to have you on this special event of music and fellowship. The first one was truly remarkable and we want to see more of you guys this time!

To reserve your tickets, please call Caleb at 334.655.4186 or e-mail him at caleb@abryanphoto.com. Caleb will put your name on the list, and your spot will be saved. Since space is limited, reservations are not necessary, but encouraged.

Katie Herzig

As we mentioned last week, Friday was our first studio concert. We were privileged to have Katie Herzig play for us. It was an amazing evening which couldn't have been pulled off without some key characters (namely: Celine, Katherine, Natalie, and my amazing wife)!

Here are a few shots from the night:

And just for the heck of it we set up a Portrait Studio (which people really seemed to enjoy):

A Bryan Photo Presents...

our first in-studio concert, an evening with Katie Herzig.

One of the aspect of our studio which we don’t have the opportunity to convey often is our absolute love of music. This concert is the first of many to be hosted here in the studio, with the purpose of introduce a small group of people to some amazing musicians in an intimate and relaxing environment.

Katie is a local Nashville artist who we have all come to love recently. A Grammy nominated songwriter, and an great musician, Katie is one of the most inspiring voices we've listened to in a while.
