Photo of the Week, Matthews’ Sisters

Another classic photo from my session with the Matthews’ family.

Captured on a Rolleiflex.

Cagwin Family, At Home

I recently got to spend a morning at the apartment of our friends, Emily & Monty. They are the wonderful new parents to their little daughter, Remy. As parents, we quickly forget what those first few years feel like. I wanted to document their new found rituals and routines while finding the beauty in these simple moments.

All images shot on a Leica and high speed black and white film.

Wingate Family, Mary Hudson’s 4th Birthday

I’ve had the chance to photograph every one of Mary Hudson’s birthdays. I’m thankful that my friends, the Wingates, continue the tradition of hiring me for the event. Here are a few images from her 4th birthday at the end of April.

Mabel Craig

This past fall I was in New York for a wedding, and one night I spent some time with my lifelong friend Jeremy, who has lived there for years. You may remember Jeremy from these posts. He and his wife Emily happened to be expecting their first child “any day.” As the night wore on, Jeremy finally headed for home well after midnight. His parting comment as he left was, “Who knows, maybe I’ll be a dad later tonight.” Seven hours later I received a text from him announcing the birth of his daughter, Mabel! I grabbed my Rollei and hopped on the subway towards their hospital near Columbus Circle. I was proud to be the first to take their family portrait and to witness such an important moment in my friend’s life. These are a few favorites from the one roll of high speed film that I shot.

Avonlea Johnson

Meet my new niece, Avonlea. Daughter of my brother Craig and his beautiful wife Kari. I’m so proud to be her Godfather and I’m so happy she’s finally here!
