What a lovely time I had photographing Cameron and Claude in New York for their engagement session. We met at Cafe Lalo on the upper west side and then strolled over to Central Park. I’m looking forward to their wedding in May!
My family got to spend a week in New Hampshire at Camp Spofford this summer. While there I had the honor of photographing some of our friends who recently got engaged, Chris & Alyssa. We shot at some of their favorite spots around camp and the lake. It was such a pleasure to do this session for this lovely couple. I’m thrilled with the images!
We love how well our holiday cards were received last year, and it seemed to be a natural fit to continue to offer our images with a personal touch.
After designing my own save the date and invitation suite, I was officially bitten by the calligraphy bug and found myself dying to personalize anything on which I could get my hands.
Thankfully, I work with a studio team that encourages my creative endeavors.
As we brainstormed a way to incorporate hand-lettering into my role as ABP stylist, we realized that the offering of save the dates would be a perfect fit. We are presenting personalized cards, printed on our ever-beautiful Hahnemuhle fine art paper, to accompany ABP engagement shoots.
Shown below are a few samples in various styles. I have to say, this project is a personal fave.
Because I’m from a small town, working in the heart of downtown Birmingham has allowed me to live out my city-girl dreams. I work in a 5th floor loft and frequent a 2nd Avenue coffee shop…. I mean, just call me Felicity Porter.
When Bryan asked Alex and me how we wanted our engagement shoot to feel, the answer was a no-brainer. Urban. We couldn’t imagine a better way to portray this season of our lives than to be documented in the city we call home.
The shoot began just outside of ABP’s building, the Phoenix, and we finished at Urban Standard (the aforementioned coffee shop) after a pit stop for peanuts on a cobble lane. I told you. Urban.
The entire experience was nothing short of incredible. In addition to simply having fun with some of my favorite people, we were handed Polaroids during the shoot that exceeded my vision for the session. Bryan gave us the gift of his art with the below images, and I could not be more thrilled with the outcome of our city shoot in Birmingham.
