I am shooting Julia & Nathan’s wedding this winter in Philadelphia but this summer I got the chance to take their engagement photos in New York. Due to rain, we split the session up into two different days. Although the rain shots were some of my favorite! I can’t wait for their wedding. I had a blast getting to know these two!
These images were taken on a Rolleiflex and a Leica M6.
What an honor it was to photograph Anne & Dylan on the roof of their flat in Greenwich Village earlier this month. Their roof has a small community porch and garden that was a perfect setting for a quiet session. I had a blast with these two and I’m excited about their wedding in Charleston this weekend!
While in New York over Christmas I photographed Simone and Mark. They live in NYC and wanted their engagement photos to be taken in the evening around the city. After meeting for a couple drinks we walked the streets of Soho and later took the subway over to the Brooklyn Bridge. I love any session where the only film I bring is high speed black and white.

Some of you may remember, when the wedding blog Snippet and Ink hosted a contest around our Christmas trip to New York. Contestants were asked to submit why New York at Christmas was important to them. The winner received a photo and 8mm session with us. We had over 300 submissions and Annie and Jared’s story won! I have to say that I can’t imagine a more beautiful couple winning this contest. I loved meeting these two and photographing their engagement images. I’m so jealous that I’m not shooting the wedding also.
