Larkyn & Jim, New York Engagement

My session with Larkyn & Jim began on the rooftop of their apartment building in Greenwich Village. We then strolled the streets, hung out on the stoop of a Brownstone and finished over drinks at the quaint local bar, Bobo. My lovely afternoon with this couple got me very excited about their wedding in Birmingham this December.

All of the images were captured on a Rolleiflex.

Julia & Nathan, New York

I am shooting Julia & Nathan’s wedding this winter in Philadelphia but this summer I got the chance to take their engagement photos in New York. Due to rain, we split the session up into two different days. Although the rain shots were some of my favorite! I can’t wait for their wedding. I had a blast getting to know these two!

These images were taken on a Rolleiflex and a Leica M6.

Anne & Dylan, New York

What an honor it was to photograph Anne & Dylan on the roof of their flat in Greenwich Village earlier this month. Their roof has a small community porch and garden that was a perfect setting for a quiet session. I had a blast with these two and I’m excited about their wedding in Charleston this weekend!

Paige & Stoddard, New York

Last month while I was in NY for the Mbird conference, I got the chance to photograph a few engagement sessions for wedding I’m shooting later this year. Paige and Stoddard live in the West Village and they are getting married at Blackberry Farm this fall. We had a great time walking around their neighborhood and shooting in their apartment. It was so great getting to know them and I can’t wait for their wedding!

All images shot on a Rolleiflex.

Charlotte & Gabe, New York

Last month I went to New York for Charlotte and Gabe’s engagement session. This is one of my favorite sessions ever in the city, and now I am so excited for their wedding this upcoming summer at Blackberry Farm. We started our time together over a few beers at Spitzer’s and then strolled through the streets of the Lower East Side where Charlotte and Gabe used to live.

I brought just my LOMO and Rollei which are my two favorite cameras for lifestyle sessions. Since I typically document these shoots alone, these compact cameras are easier to carry and make having bags or an assistant unnecessary. This in turn creates a spontaneous atmosphere for more personal moments.
