Rachel & Benton, Nottoway Plantation

This was my first time to shoot at the beautiful Nottoway Plantation and I hope its not my last. Located outside of Baton Rouge, this venue was such a perfect location for Rachel & Benton’s outdoor wedding. They had over 400 of their closest friends in attendance and it was a true Louisiana party! I’m so thankful they brought me along to document and I’m so pleased with their images. Here are a few of my favorites.

The Barker Brides

The Barker Family has a special place in our hearts at A Bryan Photo. A few years ago, we shot the whole family in their home of New York City and were enthralled with how close they are with one another. Last year, one of the daughters, Annie, booked the team to shoot her wedding in March at Notre Dame. After seeing the final Super 8 film, Julia then booked me to capture her wedding in New York City.

Both weddings were different in style but shared a common theme of how important their families are to them. There were also times where I felt I was taken in and embraced as one of their own. I can’t wait to see, years down the road, how their lives will be documented and hope that I will be lucky enough to continue to be a part of it.

Tessa & Marshall, New Hampshire

You may already know the admiration I have for the Mosley family, who invited me to document their daughter Christina’s wedding in San Francisco last year. So, naturally I was thrilled when they asked me document their son Marshall’s wedding this past fall in New Hampshire. There is no greater honor in the wedding business than the chance to work with the same family more than once. It means they trust me and are comfortable with my approach.
The Mosley’s have a knack for treating us like wedding guests. For this wedding, which took place at Tessa’s family home outside Holderness, they rented us a cabin right next to theirs and encouraged me and Branden to bring our wives. The wedding was on a Monday afternoon, which gave us the chance to spend the entire weekend with them, eating food and playing games around the fire. The wedding day, which started with a trip to the local court house to sign the marriage license, felt like a celebration with close friends.

The Bridal Portrait

I rarely take bridal portraits prior to the wedding day but there some instances when this type of session is preferred. For Lauren, she wanted the chance to have some photographs taken at her parents home in Oneonta AL. Since the wedding was in Birmingham, we wouldn’t have been able to shoot there on the wedding day. I thrilled with the images and I’m glad Lauren made it a priority to have them made.

All images shot on a Rolleiflex.

Hannon & Cameron, Lake Martin AL

What an honor it was to photograph my friends Hannon & Cameron’s wedding this past fall. They got married near Lake Martin at The Stables with a reception that followed on the grounds below. Hannon’s sister, Neillie, designed and planned the wedding to perfection. It was such a wonderful Southern affair. Here are my favorite images.
