This is my friend, Grant Brigham. He is the new director of Birmingham’s Jones Valley Urban Farm. Last week we posted a Super 8 film about their Seed to Plate program which aims to improve the health and wellness of children through agriculture and nutritional education. The program begins in the classroom and moves to the farm where the children plant and harvest their own vegetables. The vegetables are then used to make a meal (in this case pizza) for all the kids to enjoy. I was recently asked to serve on the junior board of Jones Valley and look forward to working with them closely in the near future.
