Beth & Josh, Engagement

I’m shooting Beth and Josh’s wedding in New Orleans in March, but they live in San Francisco. Since I had a wedding in San Fran 3 weeks ago, Chase and I spent a day in the city with these two kids on the Sunday after my wedding. We went to all over town to a few of their favorite spots! My favorite time of the day was buying junk food and a six pack of beer and sitting on the roof of Beth’s apartment building just talking about life. I’m so blessed they chose me to document this time of life for them.

Check out their “record” the date card. So nice!

    these are so beautiful!
my fave is the first one, the overall feel is just great. I don't know why, but I've recently developed a taste in placing subjects right in the middle when it comes to medium format… I'm enjoying it and I certainly love it in this one.

I also like the color one of them in chinatown (love the out of focus profile of josh), and i like the last one with the balloon as well. I feel like the horizon line is in the perfect spot and they look so spontaneous … these are fun to see, and beautiful!

beauty and emotion always go hand in hand; like this couple. in my opinion only film (and the photographer utilizing the film) can accurately capture the passion between two people! KUDOS!

I went to Samford, enjoyed concerts at a bryan photo and have always been a fan of your work. I moved to San Francisco last year and live near Crissy Field. I would love to see more of this shoot. You truly captured the essence of this beautiful place.

    nice work.

These are really great, Bryan. Do you often have clients bring music to a session? And do you have any idea where they had the "record" the date cards made? Those are awesome!

    Thanks Laura!
It's funny you ask about music because I have been thinking about taking a boombox with me to these type of shoots!
Also, I'm not sure where she got the cards made, but I wouldn't be surprised if she made them herself.
    Cheers

I've been thinking about doing the same. Music is so powerful & I think it could really help relax clients in front of the camera (if it's something THEY like) & make the experience that much better. Thanks for the response!
