The Day Jeremiah Learned to Fly

Do you know Jeremiah? He's been working with me for about 6 months as a consultant but he's been a good friend for years. He's been shooting all of our 8mm films at weddings and last week he learned to fly:

This was shot by Caleb, this was my favorite frame captured:

Travis...

...the men who rocked the Tabernacle. Ash and I, along with several friends made the trek to ATL for the Travis show last night. This was my third time to see them live (including a memorable night at London Arena in '02) and was most likely their best performance. The show began with the Rocky theme song blasting and the band walking through the crowd in satin boxing robes. They walked right past us and I was able to take two great shots of Fran, the lead singer. I shot on the floor for the first two songs and then joined Ash in our seats in the balcony. Caleb was there and shot the rest of the concert from the floor.
What a show! The boys from Glasgow truly delivered. If they are coming to your town, I beg you to go. If you don't know their music, buy some. I promise that you won't be dissapointed.

Natalie and Russ Wedding

Natalie & Russ got married today. Natalie was stunning, as usual, and Russ and his guys were a blast to shoot. These are a few images from the reception, which was at B & A Warehouse in B'ham. Check the wedding site in 3 weeks when all their shots go live!

Orange Beach Dance Off

I recently realized that many of you that don't have Facebook accounts may not have seen this masterpiece. On our way to a wedding in Orange Beach this May, we got a flat tire and had to take the car to the shop. While waiting Caleb grabbed his MacBook Pro and decided we must make a music video. Featured in the video in the order in which they appear: Noah, Caleb, Ash, Jeremiah, Natalie, and myself.

The Croushorn's

Last spring I got to photograph the Croushorn kids, which to date was my most enjoyable children shoot. The images were alive, true to character, and total kid. This year we took it indoors and slowed it down a bit. Although a bit more subdued, there personality stills shines. I hope to chronicle these kid's lives through the years. We may even set up another shoot this summer and take it outdoors again. Look for more to come later!

Taylor & Daniel

I'm so excited about shooting Taylor and Daniel's wedding on October 7th in Sea Island Georgia. They are such a cool couple and I feel so blessed to be apart of their wedding. A few weeks ago they came down to my studio and we did an engagement session that I felt was very "them". Daniel is an extremely talented musician that will be famous one day.

New Studio

The time has come to move into some new studio space! After two years of sharing space with the amazingly talented Jason Wallis and Cary Norton, we finally out grew ourselves. It is a little bitter sweet for me as I will miss the constant learning, growth, and photo dialogue. I feel so bless to be surrounded these guys and their encouragement and inspiring work. I have stolen so many shooting techniques from them and pawned it off as my own. This dynamic will be missed but luckily I will right down the hall from them. Here are a few of my favorite moments over the last two years.
