Closer, Closer...

We have raised over $9000 for the school!

Unfortunately, I haven't had a moment to sit down and calculate the exact total. Emails were coming in right and left today with donations, and I was trying to keep track of where we are in my head. Rebecca has been helping me tally all the money, and we are going to go over all the numbers in the morning. I will be able to post something more definite then. I'm sorry its vague, but I've been trying to run this while I'm also running around shooting in Capetown! Thank you so much for your patience with me throughout all this. I know alot of you have emailed and proposed some cool ideas to me, but at this time I am not able to process it all. Some people have asked if we can make the project more than just a one time thing, so that you could invest more into the lives of the children. Amazing ideas by the way! I love where your hearts are and that you have a strong desire to help these students. I haven't had enough time to really think long term and probably won't consider it until I can get back to the States and on my feet again. I will probably need a few weeks to process it all before making any further decisions. Thanks again for your patience.

For now, I'm going to post a few shots from Day 3 that I have yet to be able to post. We were still with the TOMS guys and Hanson gave us all a campfire concert. The night was filled with sing-a-long hysteria. Enjoy the shots!

Terrific to hear that you are so close to the goal! I can't wait to hear the final amount. This is absolutely amazing. Thank you for being so awe-inspiring to so many people, myself included. I hope that you will get a chance to take a look and think about some of the ideas proposed and get back to us through your blogs.
It takes a really special person to do what you are doing with your great big heart, God Bless all of you involved with this huge project.

If there wasn't a new policy in Girl Guides of canada saying that the only 2 charities we can fundraise for are Salvation Army and Red Cross, I'd so get my Brownies and Guides to raise money for this school, too. Maybe I could still propose the idea though? You know what? I think I will! Screw policy! This is more important! I'm gonna try and do it!

Thanks for the continued updates while your busy traveling. The newest photo's are great of Hanson playing for all of you. It's good to see them having such a great time while there with both the kids and the people from Tom's shoes. I hope you reach your goal of $10,000 by sunday.
